Hi From Maryland

I’m xantedeschia and I was born circa 1981 in Maryland. I love Doctor Who, growing plants, knitting, crocheting, reading, writing, and cooking/baking.

Initially, I became aware of Korean cuisine a few years ago when a program came on PBS that explored the foods and culture of South Korea. I bought my first jar of Kimchi then and I haven’t had a single regret about doing so. I’m presently learning how to cook recipes via YouTube, websites, and the Maangchi cookbook.

I’m also making an effort at learning the Korean language via a language learning website and app. My interest in the Korean language goes back much earlier to my childhood. I once asked one of the neighborhood grocery store owners about his newspaper and he explained that it was a paper written in Korean. As I was five years old at the time, he didn’t delve into the hardcore intricacies of language structure or anything. Nevertheless, my curiosity was piqued.
