Hi all,
I am in Brazil and asked a friend to look for hot pepper flakes, she brought me hot pepper powder, I saw at the ingredients here they are not the same. And the powder is used to make the hot pepper paste, what I love and I can eat on my toast. Is there anything else I can use the powder?? It is really hard to find Korean ingredients in Bahia, Brazil.
I’ve personally used the powder in place of the flakes. I just start in small quantities until I get to the spicy I like. I’ve used it in making kimchi, bipimbap sauce, ddeokbokki, etc. I’m not sure if using this instead of the flakes has made a huge taste difference but I’ve found it to be good.
