Hi
I did some browsing around in my local stores and i only found indian chili powder.
would that be good enough to make kimchi.
if it is what is the recommended amount to use?

Most indian chili powders are very spicy. You could use it but I would cut way back. Modern kimchi has some heat but usually its not firey hot.
