Hello everybody!

You’re all invited to my cookbook launch party in New York City! May 19th is a very important date for me because my cookbook “Maangchi’s Real Korean Cooking” will be sold in bookstores on that day! I gotta celebrate the day with you instead of staying at home. Without you, I would never have thought about making a cookbook.

Maangchi Launch Evite

My publisher, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and the Korean restaurant Barn Joo are throwing a cookbook launch party for me, so now is the time to get together and celebrate!

Tuesday, May 19th
Barn Joo
893 Broadway, NYC (map)
6-8pm
RSVP here

There will be light food. Barn Joo is going to make Korean fried chicken using my cookbook recipe, and there will be happy hour drink prices, too. They will also sell my book there, so if you want one, you can buy it there and I’ll sign it. If you already preordered the book, you can bring that too, and I will sign it. Or, you don’t have to buy a book at all, just come and have fun, meet your fellow Korean food lovers, and say hello to me!

Tickets are free, but the space is limited, so  first come, first served: RSVP here as soon as possible.

I’m looking forward to meeting you soon!

    Dear Maangchi,
living in Europe I could not make it to the launch party, but Amazon has delivered yesterday your cookbook! I didn’t expect such a big book and it’s not just recipes. The introduction, if I may call it so, is quite extensive and really interesting. I am eager to continue reading it tonight. Congratulations on your work, I am happy and honoured to have a copy of your book.
    Ciao from Italy
    Andrea

      Hi Andrea,
Yes, I wanted to make a big book full of recipes, photos, and info. You are an eager Korean cook and my longtime reader, and now that you have my book you can’t miss any of my recipes! Thanks for the kind words!

I received my copy of your cookbook on May 19th, as well as the copy I ordered for my mother-in-law. (I ordered it for one of her Mother’s Day presents.) Really, it is a wonderful book. Lots of lovely pictures. Since I’ve gotten the book, we’ve made the bibimbap (again), as well as the jjajangmyeon (for the 1st time). Both dishes were great. Thanks for all the hard work on your website, YouTube channel AND the cookbook. Really, really awesome.

Thank you for the compliment, the book was years of hard work from many people. You already started cooking from it, that’s great! I hope you get a lot of use out of the book over years and years.

I absolutely LOVE your new cookbook – it arrived yesterday!!! I watch & re-watch your UTUBE videos just about every day! You are such an inspiration to me! You are talented, cute, funny & just a joy to my day! Using all of your recipes I made an authentic Korean meal for my family of 8 people. My son & his girlfriend told me it was so authentic that I should open my own Korean restaurant – lol!!! My oldest son loves the stirfired anchovy banchan! I printed him the recipe & he’s made it for his own family – how awesome is that! My 2 year old granddaughter loves it! Thank you for all of your hard work in putting these videos and cookbook together – very much appreciated! Would love to meet you some day, Maangchi!

I wish we had been able to make it to your party! I have received your signature, but I’m still waiting for the book to come. I hope we can meet later this summer! We’ll be in Long Island in August!

As always, thank you for sharing your recipes with us!

    Cheers!
    Dave
