Win a Korean cooking startup kit from CJ

By Maangchi

Hello everybody!

Recently CJ Foods contacted me and offered to send me some Korean ingredients as a way of saying “thank you” for spreading Korean culture and cuisine. It was very kind of them to offer, but after talking to them some more, we decided it would be more fun to set up this giveaway for my readers. This is CJ’s way of encouraging you to cook Korean food, because they know that not everyone can find Korean ingredients easily.

So, leave a comment on this post, and you’ll be entered to win a Korean cooking startup kit from CJ.

Please leave only one comment below, and then there will be 20 winners chosen at random by This contest is open to anyone in the world. Wherever you live, if you win then CJ will deliver this startup kit to your house.

The contest will close at midnight (New York time), December 15th and I’ll contact the winners through email. The winners need to answer me in 5 days, and if anyone doesn’t answer in time I’ll have to pick the next winner. So please, when you register for my website to leave a comment, make sure you use a current email! And be sure to check your email around that time!

The other cool thing about this startup kit is that a lot of the products in it are from CJ’s new Bibigo brand, which you’ll soon be able to buy outside of Korean grocery stores in the USA. I asked CJ about this, and they said Bibigo is just a new brand name for their Haechandle brand, which I have been using for decades and you may have seen in my ingredients section.

So, good luck to you! I hope you win!

Update Dec 23, 2011 – The contest is now closed, and the winners have been announced. Thank you for entering!

Wow it would be so cool to win all of these ingredients. I have been trying to cook Korean food but it is sooo hard and mostly very expensive to get these ingredients…I was almost crying when I saw how cheap gochujang or soy sauce is in Korea (in Home Plus) when I was there, but in my country, Hungary, you have to order it from special places and thus it costs a lot.
