Seoul Supermarket is a pretty basic Korean market but it’s well stocked and the produce and the wide variety of prepared dishes are always really fresh and delicious. They also have a good selection of meats and fishes, including already marinated bulgogi and kalbi, which are both great when you don’t have the time to make them yourself. The staff is friendly and helpful, though they may snicker at you a little when you have to look up a translation on your phone to make sure you’re buying the right stuff. If you’re living anywhere in the northern suburbs of Chicago, Seoul Supermarket is probably your best bet for finding what you need without having to drive all the way into the city.
