Recently CJ Foods contacted me and offered to send me some Korean ingredients as a way of saying “thank you” for spreading Korean culture and cuisine. It was very kind of them to offer, but after talking to them some more, we decided it would be more fun to set up this giveaway for my readers. This is CJ’s way of encouraging you to cook Korean food, because they know that not everyone can find Korean ingredients easily.
So, leave a comment on this post, and you’ll be entered to win a Korean cooking startup kit from CJ.
Please leave only one comment below, and then there will be 20 winners chosen at random by random.org. This contest is open to anyone in the world. Wherever you live, if you win then CJ will deliver this startup kit to your house.
The contest will close at midnight (New York time), December 15th and I’ll contact the winners through email. The winners need to answer me in 5 days, and if anyone doesn’t answer in time I’ll have to pick the next winner. The other cool thing about this startup kit is that a lot of the products in it are from CJ’s new Bibigo brand, which you’ll soon be able to buy outside of Korean grocery stores in the USA. I asked CJ about this, and they said Bibigo is just a new brand name for their Haechandle brand, which I have been using for decades and you may have seen in my ingredients section.

Hi Maancghi! I’m making Sankaya for Thanksgiving… I’m so excited! I went to the Asian Market to get my Kabocha pumpkin (5 lbs… I’m making a BIG Sankaya!), and I mentioned to the (Korean) cashier what I was making; she asked me to make her some! When I told her I make my own kimchi too, she asked how I knew about all this stuff. I told her all about you and wrote down your website for her. I think you are awesome! A big thank you for making my Korean cooking easier. I became hooked on Korean food after becoming curious watching so many Korean dramas (Hooked on those, too! I no longer watch American TV). Oh, I love you channel. I no longer live near any of my Korean family, and the area that I now live has NO Korean stores. I have to drive over a hour away if I wish to get ANY good products. Winning this would give me more things to work with so that I can cook my family more Korean food.

Wow over 1500 comments and only 20 winners :P That must be tough for you! I only found out that you could sign up for this place today but I’ve been following you for a long time! I’m actually in Korea now but I will go back home again on Friday after spending 9 months here to study Korean! My boyfriend is also Korean so I’ve been watching your videos to try and get some tips and learn how to cook Korean food for him when he comes to my house. I love your recipes Maangchi! I have been able to make wonderful korean food through your site. I was actually able to buy some fresh ginseng and jujubes at a local korean market we have in the city today so I will be making Samgyetang really soon.
