Are you looking for an easy, simple, budget-friendly, portein-filled recipe? Some of my college student readers (including the daughter of one my Korean friends, living far from her mom) let me know that they loved my makgalbijjim.
Studying hard all week and having a small makgalbijjim party with friends on the weekend sounds really great. It would be lots of fun! : )
So I made makgalbijjim and tried to pretend was one of the college students. Sturdy tough beef short ribs braised in lots of sweet juicy broth over low heat for long time makes them tender enough to fall off the bone. Delicious! The recipe is here!
Which to get? my first book has all the recipes for all the essential Korean pastes and sauces, but my second book Maangchi's Big Book of Korean Cooking has more recipes. Both are best sellers and either one is a good choice if you want to learn Korean home cooking.
Yummy yummy!
