Followed your recipe but it had very little flavor to it. could there be anything missing? Also does it make a difference if you use chili pepper flakes or chili pepper powder?

I use hot pepper flakes rather than hot pepper powder.
I think you may need to add more kimchi next time or fish sauce? First time I made it, it was not salty enough to my taste so next time I just added more kimchi and fish sauce and salt.
