I am so lucky to live not far away from the only Korean restaurant in my region (look for Naru in the restaurant section of the forum) that I cannot resist to treat myself to a dinner from time to time. A couple of days ago I stayed so long at work that I decided I needed a reward! I phoned the friendly owner of the restaurant and I ordered yangnyeom tongdak with a portion of kimchi and steamed rice. I couldn't wait to take it home...
Spicy fried chicken is simply irresistible, I have tried to make it a couple of times but the result is still very far from what the restaurant (or Maangchi) does.
To give you an idea of my delicious dinner I took some photos. Enjoy!

i also went to Naru about a month ago!
i found it by chance, and i have to say that it was delicious!
i tried 3 dishes, one of which was JapChae [i can't remember the name of the other 2 ç_ç]
the taste is quite particular, but i enjoyed EVERYTHING!
and.. i can't stand hot dishes and i don't really like meat, but i ate chilly chicken, and it was delicious!
i want to go there again >_<
furthermore the owner is so kind! ^^

That is SO cool! I spent 2 years living in Italy and went to Venice 3 times and never spied that place! There was a great Chinese restaurant in the town I lived in, Desenzano del Garda, but never saw a single Korean restaurant! I just forwarded your info to a friend of mine still living in Italy who loves Korean food! Thank you so very much for this information!!!

For all those who visit Venice and long for a Korean meal, the waiting is over. Close to the railway station in Mestre (Venice mainland), 10 minutes train from Venice station, I found a Korean restaurant.
It is owned and run by a Korean family but their menu is half Korean and half Japanese, I guess because Korean taste is quite of its own, so different from the Italian taste, that an all Korean restaurant could have 'scared' the Italians, most of which (not me) tend to think that their food is the best in the world.
When you come out the station in Mestre, take the street on your left (via Trento) and walk about 100 metres. The restaurant is on the right side of the street, it is called Naru.
I already tried galbi, today I'd like to try their bibimbap.
Can't wait!
I'll keep you informed on bibimbap too...
