Recently CJ Foods contacted me and offered to send me some Korean ingredients as a way of saying “thank you” for spreading Korean culture and cuisine. It was very kind of them to offer, but after talking to them some more, we decided it would be more fun to set up this giveaway for my readers. This is CJ’s way of encouraging you to cook Korean food, because they know that not everyone can find Korean ingredients easily.
So, leave a comment on this post, and you’ll be entered to win a Korean cooking startup kit from CJ.
Please leave only one comment below, and then there will be 20 winners chosen at random by random.org. This contest is open to anyone in the world. Wherever you live, if you win then CJ will deliver this startup kit to your house.
The contest will close at midnight (New York time), December 15th and I’ll contact the winners through email. The winners need to answer me in 5 days, and if anyone doesn’t answer in time I’ll have to pick the next winner. The other cool thing about this startup kit is that a lot of the products in it are from CJ’s new Bibigo brand, which you’ll soon be able to buy outside of Korean grocery stores in the USA. I asked CJ about this, and they said Bibigo is just a new brand name for their Haechandle brand, which I have been using for decades and you may have seen in my ingredients section.

I became a Korean food addict ever since my freshman year in college, roughtly 6 years ago. I remember my friends and I was always snooping around for cheap food. We found a jewel called Ko-mart in a city close by and that was the first time I tried Korean food. It was only 5 dollars per meal! I fell in love with yukgaejang but had no idea how to go about making it so I relied on the internet to find the recipe, and that’s how I found you, Maangchi. You made the recipe seem so simple. I tried making it and it was a success. I’ve been your reader/viewer ever since!

안녕하세요 Maangchi! Really loved your videos and everything Korean related. I am taking korean lessons and just came back from Seoul this summer. Loved the food but unfortunately not so good at cooking it! My little girl loved Kimbap but when I made them, they don’t taste the same maybe it’s the ingredients??? Really wish to win this kit.
