This is a staple in our home. Either Doenjang Jiggae or Doenjang Guk. We love both. When I first started cooking Korean I was skeptical about doenjang and bought a tiny tub which stayed in the fridge a good while before I cautiously and sniffingly opened it, finally ready to brave this unchartered culinary territory. Currently I have 2 x 3kg tubs in the fridge. Jaeraesik for preference.

    Thanks again for posting these. I totally “get” how Korean people love this delicious stew/soup and never tire of it. So hearty, so healthy – comfort food without the guilt!

    Doenjang jjigae is always Koreans’ favorite and we never get tired of it. Your doenjang jjigae looks very delicious! “Currently I have 2 x 3kg tubs in the fridge. Jaeraesik for preference.” : )
