RICE CAKE - PHOENIX STYLE

I made these as a gift for the owner of my favorite Korean market. Instead of a filling of red bean paste, I made a paste of pine-nuts. Finally I rolled them in a sugar, ground cinnamon & yellow soy-flour mixture. They were a surprise to the church-ladies who had come to my friend’s market for a blessing-brunch, as was I, being the only Caucasian there & 5’10”.

    I’m sure these balls were delicious especially the ones coated with yellow soy bean powder!
