Hello everybody!

Recently CJ Foods contacted me and offered to send me some Korean ingredients as a way of saying “thank you” for spreading Korean culture and cuisine. It was very kind of them to offer, but after talking to them some more, we decided it would be more fun to set up this giveaway for my readers. This is CJ’s way of encouraging you to cook Korean food, because they know that not everyone can find Korean ingredients easily.

So, leave a comment on this post, and you’ll be entered to win a Korean cooking startup kit from CJ.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZVGqgp5RZM

Please leave only one comment below, and then there will be 20 winners chosen at random by random.org. This contest is open to anyone in the world. Wherever you live, if you win then CJ will deliver this startup kit to your house.

Korean cooking startup kit

The contest will close at midnight (New York time), December 15th and I’ll contact the winners through email. The winners need to answer me in 5 days, and if anyone doesn’t answer in time I’ll have to pick the next winner. So please, when you register for my website to leave a comment, make sure you use a current email! And be sure to check your email around that time!

The other cool thing about this startup kit is that a lot of the products in it are from CJ’s new Bibigo brand, which you’ll soon be able to buy outside of Korean grocery stores in the USA. I asked CJ about this, and they said Bibigo is just a new brand name for their Haechandle brand, which I have been using for decades and you may have seen in my ingredients section.

So, good luck to you! I hope you win!

Update Dec 23, 2011 – The contest is now closed, and the winners have been announced. Thank you for entering!

Hello Maangchi! I found your site when I searched online for Kimchi recipes. I first tasted Kimchi in the military about 10 years ago and I loved it. Then I tried your Kimchi and Kaktugi recipe and my family and I devoured it within days – it was soooo good. I can’t wait to try your other recipes like Bibimbap and Japchae. You are a true ambassador for the deliciousness that is Korean food! I would love to get started on your other recipes and the CJ Foods startup kit would be just what I need.

Maangchi ,, You have a very unique way of getting through to people hearts the very first time I saw you where when I was looking for a Kimchi recipe {Making kimchi video} I tried doing it before but the sweet rice flour porridge I learned for the Kimchi paste from you it was a simple step but really Delicious “Thank you” for that cause many recipes didn’t mention it . and I trusted your recipes ever since. I have Tried alot of them latter on but I know It’s missing the original taste for example Instead of Chili paste I had to replace it with sweet Paprika so until now I’m not sure if I had the real taste of the original Korean food that is why I’m exited for your Contest because I’m from Egypt and there is no Korean store around here ,,Sarangheyo Love all the way from Egypt XOXO
