Hello everybody!
Recently CJ Foods contacted me and offered to send me some Korean ingredients as a way of saying “thank you” for spreading Korean culture and cuisine. It was very kind of them to offer, but after talking to them some more, we decided it would be more fun to set up this giveaway for my readers. This is CJ’s way of encouraging you to cook Korean food, because they know that not everyone can find Korean ingredients easily.
So, leave a comment on this post, and you’ll be entered to win a Korean cooking startup kit from CJ.
Please leave only one comment below, and then there will be 20 winners chosen at random by random.org. This contest is open to anyone in the world. Wherever you live, if you win then CJ will deliver this startup kit to your house.
The contest will close at midnight (New York time), December 15th and I’ll contact the winners through email. The winners need to answer me in 5 days, and if anyone doesn’t answer in time I’ll have to pick the next winner. So please, when you register for my website to leave a comment, make sure you use a current email! And be sure to check your email around that time!
The other cool thing about this startup kit is that a lot of the products in it are from CJ’s new Bibigo brand, which you’ll soon be able to buy outside of Korean grocery stores in the USA. I asked CJ about this, and they said Bibigo is just a new brand name for their Haechandle brand, which I have been using for decades and you may have seen in my ingredients section.
So, good luck to you! I hope you win!
Update Dec 23, 2011 – The contest is now closed, and the winners have been announced. Thank you for entering!

Hello Maangchi,
I enjoy watching Korean series, since then, I was curious to learn Korean food. Sometimes i think that it is similar to japanese food, i saw sort sushi filled with tuna(kimbab). I have never tried kimchi, looks attractieve in red colour, fortunately i do eat spicy food.
Hey Maangchi, i did try one of your recipe, “Dakkangjung”. I loved the taste and it was not difficult to make, my children and husband found it tasty too. This weekend i’ll have a birthday party of my son, he’ll be 12 years old, and iam planning to serve korean food as a change of regularly indonesian food(iam from indonesia too). Too bad that korean ingredients is never complete to be found at the local asian store in Holland, so i hope i could win this korean cooking start up kit from your website. Thanking you for your usefull website, including your generousity in sharing your recipe and video of making the korean food.

Hi Maangchi, thanks for negotiating to share with your readers. CJ Foods and Bibigo sounds familiar… Bibigo is my favourite korean restaurant in Raffles City, Singapore, they serve the best Soondubu Jigae. CJ Foods sponsored the recent MAMA 2011 event in SIngapore and they showcase their products in the pre-show fair. I enjoyed the concert live in Singapore…. Music makes ONE! Korean food also makes the World ONE! Thanks to all for sharing your respective culture, language, food, music… especially during your amazing Gapshida trip.
