Maangchi on FaceBook

Hello everybody!

Years ago one of my fans set up a Facebook group called Love for Maangchi. I thought this was pretty cool! It was amazing to me that so many people joined this group. They are my real fans and supporters.

I never paid much attention to Facebook, but as time goes on people are asking questions on that fan group and writing like they’re talking to me. I’m not the owner of that group so I can’t answer them directly. They might have been wondering why I never answered them or talked to them, but I really have nothing to do with that group.

So I made a Facebook account under my real name to answer their questions in that group. But that confused people even more because they weren’t familiar with my real name!

As the group got bigger I realized the popularity of Facebook and thought that it would be useful to announce any upcoming events. Every time I have a meetup some people are disappointed because they didn’t know it was happening. If I could announce through Facebook maybe they wouldn’t miss it.

I was going to ask the owner of that group if I could be an admin there. But I did some research and learned the difference between a Facebook group and a Facebook page. I learned that what I really needed was my own Maangchi Page. So I made it at http://www.facebook.com/maangchi.

Of course my real home is my website, but you can also find me there sometimes. I’ll be sure to announce my new recipes and meetups and any events there, it might be more convenient for you.
