Comforting Spicy Fish Soup

After watching an episode of Family Outing, I made Maangchi’s maeuntang, or spicy fish soup, for a really comforting dinner. I couldn’t find the red snapper so I just substituted it with whatever fresh and beautiful fish I could find at the fishmongers – this is gilthead bream, which is supposedly considered sacred to Aphrodite […]

Miyeok guk with shiitake mushrooms and dried fish

Add dried shiitake mushrooms this time and  dried fish. The recipe is here.

Hoddeok

There is a clue of what is in my hotteok this time in the background of the picture. :D The recipe is here.

Spicy stuffed cucumber kimchi (oisobagi)

I’d followed the recipe and added a little bit minced ginger for it~ Taste fresh and good ~ The recipe is here.

Dwaejigogibokkeum (spicy stir fried pork)

I can’t stop eating this. So delicious. I used pork shoulder this time, less fatty and it had the skin on still, which I love. So good! The recipe is here.

Maangchi’s persimmon punch

Maangchi’s sujeonggwa, which is a dessert punch made from persimmons. The color of mine is completely different because I used honey instead of sugar and powdered cinnamon instead of cinnamon sticks, which made my punch much cloudier. Still really delicious and refreshing though! The recipe is here.

Kongnamul muchim, soybean sprout side dish

Love this healthy side dish. So delicious with sweet red pepper and so pretty too. The recipe is here.

Traditional hot ginger tea

I love how easy and simple this recipe is. My fiance – who is ¼ Korean c: – adores the strong ginger taste, but for me it will take some getting used to! The recipe is here.

Dwaejibulgogi with lettuce and mixed rice

Stir-fried pork is cooked in a wok. Served with white rice & spicy mushrooms rice, seasoning sauce, lettuce and vegetables all together. Thanks for sharing the recipe!! The recipe is here.

A green lettuce wrap with stir-fried pork – Dwaejibulgogi and seasoned vegetables & rice

I also followed the indications and I tried to make a small green lettuce wrap with pork, sesame seeds and spicy vegetables & hot chilli paste… the result was yummy, indeed!! Thanks again! The recipe is here.

Strawberry Milkshake

I tried your method of freezing the strawberries first before blending. And it was so much tastier than the traditional “American” way. Delicious!! I love the slushiness of the ice cold strawberry goodness. It’s so much better than adding ice or ice cream. The recipe is here.

Dinner tonight!

Domiyangnyeomgui (fried snapper with seasoning sauce), miyeokguk (seaweed sou), kongnamul mulchim (soybean sprouts), Sigeumchi namul (spinach) and BAP (rice)! I took the picture after I tasted the fish. Oops! So delicious. The recipe is here.

Fried fish with seasoning sauce

I used a sea bass fish of some kind. I am not too sure. My cousin caught it. I fried it and made the seasoning sauce, yangnyeomjang and put it on the crispy fish. Delicious! Sorry if he’s looking at you. :) The recipe is here.

Maangchi’s amazing braised saury

Haven’t had korean food in so long and had a massive craving so made this! I had quite a similar dish in KTown in NYC and it was so nice to be able to recreate it myself. I used tinned mackerel fillets for this one but the one I cooked a couple of days later […]

Miyuk guk with tofu and dried fish

Maangchi I don’t like my miyeokguk with beef. So i have been experimenting with different things to add. My mom makes dried fish jerky and we usually fry it crispy and eat it with sticky rice and spicy chili dipping sauce. She gave me some of her dried fish jerky when I visited her last […]
