This is one of my favorite Korean comfort foods. It is so tasty and satisfying. I can’t eat this without Kimchi. And I usually put mandoo (dumplings) in it. My family makes this in bulk to eat on New Years. But of course, it is delicious to eat any time of the year. I made this the other day when I was craving something soupy. One of the chefs I knew from Korea makes the broth for tteokguk all day long, giving it a rich, deep, and intense flavor. I gotta try that some day when I have the time.
