I’ve been cooking korean food from your recipes for over a year now Maangchi, and about a month ago, I started posting photos of these dishes on Facebook. Alot of friends were curious as to what these dishes tasted, so I decided to organize a Korean food picnic. I was so nervous about it. I’m quite an introverted person, and it was the first time in my life for me to organize a picnic! I was so worried whether it would work out or not. Originally 4 promised to come. But then 3 days before the picnic, one had a work emergency. The day before, one of them fell from a staircase. And on the day itself, the dog of one of the participants got broken, so she had to take it to the vet. I thought no one was going to come and all the food I prepared would be wasted. Luckily one of the original 4 came and she brought a friend. Even if we were just 3, it was super fun. I guess happiness doesn’t always rely on numbers. haha. We all enjoyed Korean food and explored the park. Yangyeom tongdak was one of the dishes I made.

My cookbooks
Which to get? my first book has all the recipes for all the essential Korean pastes and sauces, but my second book Maangchi's Big Book of Korean Cooking has more recipes. Both are best sellers and either one is a good choice if you want to learn Korean home cooking.
