I made rice cake (songpyeon) with 2 kinds of fillings: the pink one is made with a mixture of sesame seeds powder and sugar, and the green one is made with chestnuts. Songpyeon is usually made for the Korean Chuseok Festival Day, which was the 12 of September this year. I had a real craving for this after Chuseok, so I made it for myself in the days that followed

Sure, it’s supposed to be for a special day, but why not make it on a regular day? Delicious! The recipe is here.

    They look so beautiful! I ate these in Korea for the first time (I haven’t made yours yet) and they were delicious! The fillings really make them. I like the idea of the chestnut one – the ones I had were nuts and sesame seeds
